Environmental Project Consultant
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Are you an experienced Environmental Consultant who is already licensed as a Lead Inspector in both South Carolina and North Carolina? An established environmental consulting firm serving commercial, industrial, government, and institutional clients throughout the Carolinas is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Consultant. This position is ideal for a professional who already possesses lead inspection licensing and enjoys managing projects independently while working directly with clients in the field. You'll have the opportunity to perform a variety of environmental assessments, work with a diverse client base, and enjoy significant autonomy without excessive oversight.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct lead-based paint inspections and environmental assessments
- Perform lead risk assessments and asbestos inspections
- Collect environmental samples as required
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation
- Coordinate directly with commercial, municipal, healthcare, educational, and industrial clients
- Manage multiple consulting projects simultaneously
- Maintain regulatory compliance with federal and state requirements
- Travel throughout the Carolinas as needed
Qualifications
Successful candidates will bring a combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage projects with confidence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Lead Inspector licensing in both South Carolina and North Carolina
- Previous experience providing environmental consulting services in commercial, industrial, institutional, or government settings
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional technical reports
- Proven ability to organize workload, prioritize projects, and work effectively with limited oversight
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with clients
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel regularly throughout the Carolinas
Additional Qualifications That Will Set You Apart
- Current Lead Risk Assessor credential
- Asbestos inspection certification or related asbestos credentials
- Background in industrial hygiene or exposure assessment
- Experience conducting mold investigations or indoor environmental assessments
- EPA or other applicable environmental certifications
- Experience supporting educational institutions, healthcare organizations, municipalities, industrial operations, commercial facilities, or public-sector clients
