The Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) will be responsible for assisting with civil engineering design, planning, stormwater management, and other related tasks to support project development. This full-time, direct placement role is a fully onsite position located in Greenville, SC. Our client is growing fast. They are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer-in-training to help support their ever-growing portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate for this role is approachable, coachable, engaged and ready to bring positive energy to an already energized team.
Employment Type: Full Time, Direct Placement
Work Authorization: US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card), no sponsorship
Compensation: $65,000–$75,000 Annually DOE
Location: Greenville, SC (Fully Onsite)
Relocation: Considered for outstanding candidates

Responsibilities:
- Create and modify civil engineering designs using Civil 3D and AutoCAD software
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports for civil engineering projects
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to develop project concepts and designs
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of experience in civil site, commercial, residential design, or public works
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices
- Proven expertise in performing calculations for stormwater management, pipe hydraulics, water and sewer systems, and site layout.
- Familiarity with jurisdictional regulations and permitting processes, ensuring designs meet local, state, and federal requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work onsite in Greenville, SC Monday–Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with overtime as needed
Technical Environment & Preferred Tools:
- Primary: Autodesk Civil 3D (required)
- Familiarity with: HydroCAD, WaterCAD, SEDCAD, IDEAL modeling software
